Blind Credits
I wanted to email this to you regarding a new safety implementation regarding Blind Credits for merchant gateways.
Blind credits clearly carry a significant risk to the merchant and merchant provider. We feel very strongly about the requirement we will be enforcing below.
Blind Credits: We now require two factor authentication 2FA to be enabled for ALL USERS on a merchant gateway in order for partners to enable Blind Credits for a merchant. Any merchant gateways that have Blind Credits currently enabled, but not fully utilizing two factor authentication 2FA, will have their Blind Credits disabled.
Example: If there are any users on a merchant gateway that do not have two factor authentication 2FA enabled, if you (the partner) try to enable Blind Credits, you will receive an “Unauthorized Action" error.
Please inform all of your merchants that utilize Blind Credits that this will need to be set up moving forward and is effective immediately.
Steps to set up Blind Credits in Production AND Sandbox for a merchant that will utilize Blind Credits:
PARTNER USERS THAT WILL BE ENABLING BLIND CREDITS FOR A MERCHANT GATEWAY MUST HAVE 2FA ENABLED.
ALL MERCHANT GATEWAY USERS MUST HAVE 2FA ENABLED BEFORE PROCEEDING.
PARTNER CAN THEN ENABLE “SUPPORT BLIND CREDITS” FOR THE MERCHANT GATEWAY
PARTNER CAN THEN ENABLE “PROCESS CREDIT” FOR A SPECIFIC USER
AFTER THE MERCHANT GATEWAY IS PROPERLY ENABLED WITH “SUPPORT BLIND CREDITS”, THERE IS A 48-HOUR HOLD BEFORE BLIND CREDITS CAN BE PROCESSED.
IF THERE ARE MULTIPLE BLIND CREDITS PROCESSED FOR ANY DOLLAR AMOUNT, OR BLIND CREDITS PROCESSED IN THE AMOUNT OF $500.00 OR MORE, THERE IS A 72-HOUR HOLD ON ALL SETTLEMENTS, AFTER THE 72-HOUR HOLD, IT WILL SETTLE AS NORMAL.
